RANCCF
The RAN Central Canteens Fund (RANCCF) is a non-public fund, created under the Naval Defence Act 1910 and governed by the Navy (Canteens) Regulation 1954. The RANCCF is managed by the RAN Central Canteens Board (RANCCB): the RANCCB should act to the betterment of the stakeholders (primarily all Navy personnel) whilst remaining responsive to the Chief of the Navy as the Principal of the fund. The RANCCF is required to function within the framework Act and Regulations and, since 1 July 2007, as a statutory body reporting under the Commonwealth and Companies Act 1997 (CAC Act).
The RANCCF is the overarching statutory body for all RAN Service System Canteens ashore and afloat (including CReST, the largest); however, all Canteens remain financially and operationally independant. The RANCCF receives a Levy of 3 1/3 % of Gross Sales from all Navy Canteens, which it then uses to help fund projects that benefit the sailor such as: the RAN Sports Council (for grants to largely fund Navy Sport); the RAN Relief Trust Fund (the source of interest free furniture and housing loans for serving members); the RAN holiday centres (for quality accommodation at low rates); the RAN Housekeeping Scheme (family support for deployed members); and many other initiatives. The RANCCF also operates Navy Ticketing, which offers entry to concerts, theatre, and the like at discounted rates for its members. Additionally, the RANCCF has an online shop at
